Welcome to Crossroads of Altoona!

Crossroads is a non-profit entity that was established to provide a safe haven for all individuals that are recovering or struggling with addiction issues. Scroll down to learn more about our facility, events, and membership!

Social Committee Needed

Part of Crossroads mission is to sponsor and host social events such as parties, dances, and other get-togethers conducted in our alcohol and drug-free environment. These events are only possible when club members are willing to volunteer to work together to make them possible.

As such, the club board of directors is looking for volunteers to form a permanent, standing social committee to plan, organize and execute social events. If you are interested in being a part of such a committee and are willing to work to enable this club to be successful in this mission, please call Bob C., Board Treasurer at 814 934-3227.

Crossroads Events

There are no events planned at this time pending the formation of a social committee. The board is considering the possibility of holding a New Year’s Eve party, if it determines there is sufficient serious interest in attendance and we are successful in forming a working Social Committee (as described above) in a timely manner.

Crossroads of Altoona

Organization Mission Statement

Primary Purpose

Crossroads is a non-profit entity that was established to provide a safe haven for all individuals that are recovering or struggling with addiction issues that affect their lives and the lives of others. This establishment provides a safe drug/alcohol-free environment for those affected by addiction. It will not discriminate against any individual that suffers from addiction regardless of gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, race or creed. All individuals must follow the rules of conduct established by the Board of Directors responsible for maintaining a safe environment for this mission facility and its membership.

Secondary Purpose

Crossroads encourages the membership to become actively involved in its operation. Such involvement can enhance the recovery process for participating members and increase self-respect, self-esteem, and worthiness of recovery. The goal is to help those members become responsible, productive, and accountable within the organization as well as in society. Encouragement is provided by becoming actively involved in the committees and club functions associated with addiction and recovery. This will result in improved communication skills, increased willingness to change and compromise, and growth in the ability to interact in non-threatening ways with other members.

Crossroads is a separate entity from all 12-Step programs and is not affiliated with any of these recovery fellowships. Our mission is to provide a safe environment and a location for meetings to take place.
